Caraíba Metais is divided into Mineração Caraíba S.A. (“MCSA”), the mining arm, and Caraíba Metais, the smelting arm, which was later privatized and eventually renamed Paranapanema
MCSA is privatized under Brazil’s National Privatization Program
MCSA acquires the mining rights of NX Gold in June, today known as the Xavantina Operations
MCSA acquires the mining rights for the Boa Esperança Project, today known as the Tucumã Operation
Construction of the Xavantina Mine commences in the second half of the year
Construction of the Xavantina mine successfully completed with first bullion sold in May
MCSA and NX Gold enter judicial reorganization in February
